Erayna Garcia Martin – Lathrop Juneteenth Heritage Committee Member
Born and raised in Pontiac, Michigan, Erayna Garcia Martin has always exemplified excellence and resilience. A standout in academics, she joined the U.S. Navy in 2000, embarking on a remarkable career of service. Martin served on both sea and shore duty during critical moments in history, including relief operations in Indonesia following the devastating tsunami and deployments during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Following her military service, Martin transitioned to civilian leadership as an Executive Administrator at West Marine’s corporate headquarters. Her expertise and dedication were evident as she navigated the corporate world with precision and professionalism. Eventually, she chose to take a step back from her career to focus on homeschooling her children, creating a nurturing environment for their education and growth.
Now residing in Lathrop, California, Martin has become an active community leader. Her passion for cultural preservation and community empowerment led her to join the Lathrop Juneteenth Heritage Committee, where she plays a vital role in organizing events that celebrate freedom and unity. With her diverse experiences and unwavering commitment to service, Erayna Garcia Martin continues to inspire those around her while honoring the legacy of Juneteenth.
